Once you get above 23cm, buying off the shelf products from big brands like Icom and Yaesu is no longer an option, and usually requires the use of transverters and other home brew equipment.
Over the last 2 years there have been a group growing within REAST focussed on making contacts on many of the available bands above 1296Mhz, including 2.4Ghz, 3.4Ghz and 10 Ghz. The continued work on weak signal modes now sees greater distances transmitted and contacts via moonbounce, known as Earth Moon Earth, or EME for short.
If you would like to know more, why not visit the REAST clubrooms on a Wednesday evening.
