The postponed REAST Open Day 2022 will be held on January 30th from 11:00am to 3:00pm in and around the Queens Domain Clubrooms. Come along have a snag and learn all about some mind-blowing technology!

The REAST AGM will be held on Feb 6th 2022 in the clubrooms. Please consider nominating to help run your club.

The REAST Committee will be holding a Foundation Licence Focus night on 2nd March 2022 and want to get as many of our new (and old) Foundation Licence holders along as well as our experienced operators to share their collective experiences about getting on the air.

Andrew VK7AJ is a well respected and in-demand Broadcast Audio Tech who travels Australia doing audio for Test Cricket, Big Bash Cricket (BBL and WBBL) , Football (AFL and AFLW) NBL Basketball and many other sports. Andrew has some great stories of mixing it with the "Talent" and using the phenomenal technology that rolls into town when these events occur.

The Wireless Institute of Australia will be holding their Hybrid (in person and online) Annual General Meeting and Open Forum on 7th May 2022.
Both will be streamed online using zoom.

Antarctica really is an amazing place and the WIA AGM & Virtual Conference is showcasing Antarctic history, adventure, global research and communications challenges.

We are lucky to have QRP Guru - Peter Parker VK3YE in Tasmania visiting family toward the end of May and he has agreed to give us a presentation and share his vast QRP radio experience.
This presentation called 6 ways to make contacts will explore some great ideas for you to get contacts using low power.

Our June presentation night will be a focus on marine and scientific electronics and many of the techniques used in this fascinating area.

Joe VK7JS is a blind amateur who has developed - amongst many other pieces of software, the AccessibleGD77 firmware to replace the standard GD77 firmware to make the handheld much more friendly to visually impaired with lots of benefits for non-visually impaired people as well. Joe will be describing this development and the features of the new firmware.
